That is a time when you start thinking that your life is half over and reflect on where you are in your life. Some guys get a new sports car, some guys get a girlfriend, some guys get plastic surgery or some other make over. Well I got my self a duck boat. Is it because I am having a mid-life crisis? I don't think so. I think I have just wanted a duck boat for a long time. I talked about getting one for a couple years but I didn't get one because we were going to be moving. Now since we aren't moving, I got the boat. I was able to find one that is exactly what I was looking for. I got a 2008 Excel 18X51 with a 35 HP hyperdrive. I will post pictures once I feel well enough to go out and take some. October can not come fast enough!

Yesterday, I started not feeling well and today I haven't been out of bed very much. Hopefully tomorrow I will start feeling better.

We leave for Disneyland on Thursday. We will be there for 6 days and we will celebrate Brit's 16th birthday while there. I am sure we will have a great time.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-60498490052518650072009-03-30T18:41:00.003-06:002009-03-30T19:00:34.313-06:00Whoa MarchWell March is almost over. . . We saw plenty of sign (tracks, poop, eaten vegetation) but we did not see any animals at all. We had a good time and look forward to chasing them again next year. We were able to ride Qaud runners and covered a lot of territory in 2 days. We did see tons of birds (bluebirds and Cardinals included), Mule deer, squirrels, jack rabbits, cottontails, lizards and lots of cat tracks.

The hunt goes for a few more days but I will need to plan on next year. I have been traveling back and forth from Phoenix to SLC quite a bit. I think I have traveled more on airplanes this calendar year then the past 10 years combined. I think today was my 9 flight. I will be headed back down next weekend.

It is great to be able to spend time with my family on the weekends. We have been doing a lot of fun things and just spending time together. We have been to museums, state parks, botanical gardens, olive farms and ghost towns. Everything down there is a new adventure for us.

We are starting to see the end of the road for this little adventure. Kim and the kids will be back home on March 15th. I hope Kim and the kids will be able to adjust back.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-76582836888832740322009-02-05T09:50:00.002-07:002009-02-05T09:56:56.694-07:005 favsI have been tagged by Kaylee. Here is an update:

Wednesday we left around 3:00 and drove to Mesquite to spend the night. We had planned on staying in the Walmart parking lot, but it was clearly marked that you could not spend the night in their parking lot. We then drove over to the Casablanca where the parking lot was full of RVers. We setup in a small quite corner and grabbed a bite to eat and went to bed.

Thursday morning we woke up, grabbed some more McD's food, packed up the RV and hit the road. We arrived at the RV park around 6:30 and started setting up. The campground host and another RVer help me back in our 5th wheel without hitting the fire hydrant or any other cars or RV's. We then leveled out hooked things up and had a nice dinner with Jen, Nate and the girls at Olive Garden. When we were done eating, Nate asked our server if his wrist was OK, well Anthony went on a 10 minute story about how he had been cut in a drunken brawl. We could barely contain our laughter.

Friday we spent the day driving around getting familiar with the area and going shopping. The dogs freaked out and so did Kim for a little while. At this point I thought we may be driving home in the morning. Jen and Nate invited us over for dinner, had some really yummy chicken and watched the Sugar Bowl. Huge win for the Utes. When we arrived back at the trailer we found a leak in the toilet, so we had to turn off the water for the night.

Saturday we woke up and headed over to Camping World to get a replacement hose for the toilet and a few other supplies we needed. I swapped out the hose on the toilet and it was still leaking. Turns out the toilet had a crack and I had to go back to Camping World and buy a new one. Once that was fixed, we finally cleaned up and had dinner over at Oregano's Pizza. Mmmmmm. After dinner we came back to the trailer and played the Office game and settled in for the night. The weatherman told us that a winter storm was coming in on Sunday.

Today, we woke up and had brunch at Sweet Tomatoes. The we drove around some more. BTW it is 50 degrees and raining, I guess that is a winter storm down here. I am still in shorts and a t shirt.

Tomorrow, I will fly home in the morning. I will work for a week and fly back down on Friday morning. It will be hard to leave my family, but I feel like they are in a good situation. Kim seems to be doing better physically and mentally. Phoenix is a nice area to live. Even in a trailer park.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-61249382530191113202008-12-29T09:18:00.003-07:002008-12-29T09:26:33.586-07:00Just some thoughtsLast night, Kim came upstairs and took a hot bath (she does this almost every day now). When she got out, she came over to show me her fingers, they had turned black. This is one of the symptoms of her illness.

There are so many unknowns right now. How will my family be without me being there? Is where they are staying safe? Will Kim be able to stay warm enough to start the healing process?

Kim and I are not sleeping much right now. Hopefully the warmer weather will make up for some of the stresses. Cold weather can make Kim's symptoms flair up but so can stress. I hope this is the best thing for everyone. I guess we will see.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-1187966454562740442008-12-28T11:35:00.002-07:002008-12-28T12:02:24.360-07:00ChangeThere are going to be alot of changes in our lives over the next few weeks.

On Wednesday, we will be leaving to head down to Phoenix. We are going to spend New Years Eve in Mesquite, probably in the WalMart Parking lot. We will drive the rest of the way to Phoenix on Thursday. The weather right now is looking good. I think once we get down to St. George, the weather wont be an issue.

I will be flying down at least every other weekend. I will be heading down there the first 2 weekend to make sure everthing is Ok, ease into the trasition.

We have a very close family so having us be away from each other will take some getting used to. Good thing for texting, email and IM.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-16101867038971041532008-12-20T10:00:00.002-07:002008-12-20T10:05:20.836-07:00Holiday timesWell, I am just sitting here waiting for the German Pancakes to finish cooking. There is about 8 inches of new snow on the ground and it looks beautiful outside. Too bad it wont get about 20 degrees today.

We are pretty much ready for Christmas at this point. After that, we are going to be getting ready to head down to Arizona. The weather will be nicer down there but it will be hard being away from my family for 2 week stretches.

Kind of a pointless post but at least I have updated finally.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-7072559676312607082008-12-14T20:51:00.003-07:002008-12-14T20:56:16.798-07:00No More WaterfowlI am done waterfowl hunting for this year. I have been out in the marsh almost every weekend since October. My dad had some really good looks at swans but was not able to fill his tag. Hopefully next year we will be able to draw more tags.

No we need to get ready for Christmas and leaving for Phoenix in 2.5 weeks.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-82424900713360389352008-11-29T10:34:00.006-07:002008-11-29T10:43:26.525-07:00Quack Again

Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-22097075334377695072008-11-26T07:29:00.004-07:002008-11-26T07:44:48.052-07:00Holiday weekendFinally a holiday weekend to spend time with family and relax. This is an event where they give out a bunch of awards to businesses and people who help out CCS. There were a bunch of community leaders, politicians and business leaders there. President Monson was there too. We sat in the back corner with his security guards. I guess our donation wasn't big enough to move us out of the corner ;) Kim and I decided to stay over the night and Spence came and stayed with the kids and played Rock Band until 1:00 AM.

On Friday, we came home and went as saw Twilight. That night we went to Ryleigh's Birthday party at Bounce U. I kick Tawni and Shanae's butts on the obstacle course. 40 year old out of shape fat guys Rock! Kim and the kids decided to go see Twilight again at 11:00 with Polly and Tawni. I went to bed.

On Saturday Morning I woke up at 3:30 and my dad and I went hunting again. Yes I am addicted to hunting, thanks for asking. We met a friend, Dustin who has a boat, out at Ogden Bay. After a 20 minute boat ride we were at our spot. We put out his 100 duck decoys, 10 goose decoys and 2 swan decoys. We were done setting up about 15 minute before it opened and could hear ducks landing in the decoys in the dark. That was cool. We shot a bunch and even had a triple (3 duck shot out of one flock). We saw geese, and swans but could not get them to decoy in. We came home around noon and now I am so tired that I am having trouble typing. I guess I should go to bed now.

My dad still hasn't filled his swan tag so I guess we will try again.Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925952567593674456.post-1570168476755655822008-11-15T18:20:00.007-07:002008-11-15T21:25:31.540-07:00Swan HuntingKaylee, Tanner, my dad and I all went out to Bear River Bird Refuge on Friday afternoon to see if we could help dad fill his tag.

We arrived about 2:30 and started walking out the dike. He had one of his friends, Dustin, come out as well. He too has a boat and he brought about 100 decoys. The day was sunny and beautiful not too good for duck hunting. We ended up shooting the only 2 birds that decoyed in. Here are a couple of photos. It was still a really nice time.

Hola I'm Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04694890262055344520noreply@blogger.com0
